To become licensed to sell real estate in Maryland, candidates must be at least 18 years old and successfully complete 60 hours of real estate education from a Maryland-approved real estate school. Weichert Real Estate School's Principles and Practices of Real Estate course fulfills this 60-hour education requirement.
After successfully completing the course, candidates must pass both the national and state portions of the Maryland licensing examination administered by PSI. Both portions of the exam must be passed within one year of the course completion date. Candidates who do not pass both portions within this timeframe must repeat the full 60-hour course before becoming eligible to test again.
Once the licensing examination has been passed, candidates must submit an application for licensure to the Maryland Real Estate Commission.
