An applicant for licensure as a real estate broker shall establish to the satisfaction of the Real Estate Commission that the applicant:
Is able to read, write, and understand the English language; is a high school graduate or the holder of a high school equivalency certificate; has successfully completed a 99-hour course of study prescribed by the Commission at a school approved by the Commission*; has passed the Pearson/Vue examination; has not had an application for a real estate license denied in Delaware (for reasons other than failure to pass the required examination or examinations, or elsewhere within one year prior to the date on which the application is filed); has not had a real estate license suspended in Delaware or elsewhere, which is still in effect on the date on which the application is filed; and has not had a real estate license revoked in Delaware or elsewhere within 3 years prior to the date on which his or her application is filed.
*The Weichert Real Estate School offers the Delaware Real Estate Agent Pre-licensing course to satisfy the 99-hour requirement.
Continuing Education
Licensees are required to take 12 hours the first year of licensure then 21 hours every 2 years to renew their licenses.
